Side channel compressors can be single-stage or two-stage, depending on whether the air is compressed once or twice between the inlet valve and the nozzle on the pump. They are dry-running and contact-free, which in turn makes them maintenance-free, and they can be used in a wide range of applications requiring an inlet volumetric flow rate of less than 2,500 m3/h and a pressure differential of up to 780 mbar.
